Maintain Your Furniture
Simple practices that keep solid wood furniture looking and feeling new for decades.
Climate
Keep wood furniture in a stable indoor environment — between 18–26°C and 40–60% relative humidity. Avoid AC vents and radiators.
Cleaning
Dust weekly with a soft, dry cloth. Wipe spills immediately. Once a year, a gentle wood-safe conditioner can revive the finish.
Moving the piece
Always lift — never drag — furniture. For large items, ask for help and lift from the base, not the top.
Long-term care
Inspect joints and hardware annually and tighten gently if required. Light scratches can be hidden with a colour-matched wax stick.
